Frank is a reformed broker, reborn through the use of automation and technology to help improve client outcomes.

A 15-year veteran of the investment management industry, he believes most clients are intelligent enough to control their financial destiny, with transparency typically the only impediment. He has therefore made transparency one of the primary tenets of SWS.

At SWS Partners, Frank’s particular area of focus is portfolio forensics for high net worth individuals, endowments and foundations.

Frank earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Indiana University. He lives in central Ohio with his wife and two children.

Philip Kessler, JD

Phil is a reformed attorney that has utilized this background to build a multidisciplinary career in financial services.

A 20-year veteran of the investment management industry, he believes that emphasizing the application of technology illuminates one of the remaining components of value in the industry: the advice. He has therefore made technology one of the primary tenets of SWS.

At SWS, Phil’s primary focus is succession planning and private investments for the ultra-wealthy, family offices, endowments, and foundations.

Phil earned a J.D. from the University of Dayton. He lives with his wife Lisa and their two daughters in central Ohio.

Michael Parker, CFA

Partner, Chief Investment Officer

Mike is an accomplished portfolio manager that has sought to avail his expertise to a broader client base.

With eighteen years of investment experience, most recently as a portfolio manager for $4 billion of actively managed equities at Ohio PERS, Mike believes in leveraging new technologies across every facet of firm operations. It’s a core tenet both to the firm’s investment operations and to the investment processes underlying all internally managed strategies. The kernel of companies’ competitive advantage is increasingly becoming defined by their ability to deploy technology towards value creation. As such, the SWS investment framework has been designed to embrace its disruptive capabilities to the benefit of clients.

At SWS Partners, Mike’s focus is both asset management and asset allocation for institutions, endowments, foundations, and the ultra-wealthy.

Mike holds his CFA charter as a member of the CFA Institute and earned a bachelor’s degree in economics with a finance concentration from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He lives in central Ohio with his wife.

Colin Bishop

Financial Planner

Colin knows that Financial Planning should be the foundation to every financial decision. He is of the belief that as a financial planning professional he should be a guide for our client’s futures and never a salesperson for any given product.

A financial plan is very unique to every client. The plan shoulders the responsibility of having a strong baseline from which to make fiscal investments. Colin works with our client’s to piece together their complete financial picture as it is today and compare it to their future financial goals. Once he has assessed a client’s current situation, he is then able to make recommendations on what actions to take and how their investments should be allocated.

He has lived in central Ohio for the majority of his life, graduating from The Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in Family Financial Planning. In his free time, Colin plays soccer and cheers for all Columbus sports teams.

Kurt Grove, CFA

Partner, Portfolio Manager

Kurt is an accomplished portfolio manager that focuses equally on both a quantitative and qualitative approach to help benefit clients.

With 7 years of experience, most recently as an analyst of active long-only US equities at Ohio PERS, Kurt focuses on streamlining the investment process through technology and automation, while focusing on companies that leverage their technology to create value for shareholders.

At SWS Partners, Kurt’s focus is both asset management and asset allocation for institutions, endowments, foundations, and the ultra-wealthy.

Kurt holds his CFA charter as a member of the CFA Institute and previously earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a Finance concentration from the Fisher College of Business at the Ohio State University. He lives in central Ohio with his wife.
